MoXIE Power for Emergency Response & Disaster Relief
MoXIE Power for Emergency Response & Disaster Relief
Why MoXIE Works for Emergency Response
Off-Grid Power Without Fuel Logistics
When natural disasters strike, power lines go down and fuel is scarce. MoXIE delivers portable AC power (120V/230V or 208V 3-phase with sync) without relying on generators or fossil fuel infrastructure.
Medical + Communications Support
MoXIE can power:
-
-
-
- Portable refrigeration for vaccines or insulin
- Satellite communication systems, routers, and Wi-Fi hotspots
- Field medical tents: CPAP machines, sterilizers, diagnostics
-
-
Extreme Environmental Resilience
Vita Cells operate in -4°F to 140°F, while Kodiak Cells go from -40°F to 140°F — critical for cold storms, desert deployments, and everything in between.
Compact and Deployable Anywhere
Fits in standard vehicles, ATVs, helicopters, or even carried by hand into shelters and triage areas. No box trucks, forklifts, or fuel supply needed.
Continuous, Swappable Power
Using MoXIE Matrix, responders can hot-swap cells without interruption. MoXIE’s modular system ensures uninterrupted uptime even in multi-day deployments.
Multi-Voltage DC Outputs
-
-
-
- MoXIE provides 14V, 28V, and 48V regulated DC outputs — ideal for powering:
- Medical monitors or equipment that run on 12–14V
- Comms gear and emergency lighting designed for 24–30V inputs
- High-efficiency LED towers or networking equipment that benefit from 48V for reduced current draw and cable losses

No Fuel, No Fumes, No Mess
Forget lugging around gas cans, dealing with spills, or breathing in exhaust while trying to focus on the job. MoXIE eliminates fuel handling entirely — no fumes, no risk of leaks, and no smell sticking to your gear or your hands.

Disaster zones rarely allow for ideal logistics, and large generators aren’t always practical for field deployment. MoXIE units can be rapidly rolled into medical tents, comms hubs, or mobile command centers, delivering critical power without fuel, fumes, or long extension cords. Whether supporting triage refrigeration or powering satellite uplinks in a floodplain, MoXIE’s deploy-anywhere design ensures power is always within reach — even when the grid is miles away.
Emergency Response — Hurricane Deployment
Background
After a major Category 4 hurricane made landfall, coastal infrastructure was destroyed. FEMA and NGO teams needed to rapidly deploy mobile shelters, communication hubs, and medical triage tents far from the nearest functional grid.
The Challenge
- Medical teams required reliable AC power for refrigeration and lighting
- Communications infrastructure needed to be brought online using Starlink and mesh routers
- Emergency responders had no way to fuel or transport generators due to flooding
- Multiple shelters across different locations needed scalable and mobile power
The MoXIE Solution
Two MoXIE Solo Units, three Kodiak Cells, and three Vita Cells were deployed:
- Powered portable refrigerators, satellite uplinks, and CPAPs in shelters
- Supported drone charging, radio base stations, and LED lighting rigs
- Deployed from SUVs and hand-carried into shelters via shoulder harness
- Matrix units used where space was limited — running a single Cell in compact medical tents
- DC outputs used to power 12V oxygen concentrators and 48V LED tower lights with no additional converters
- 5 days of continuous operation before any resupply was required
- Mission-critical medical and comms gear kept online
- No issues from fuel, noise, or exhaust
- Units were rotated across four shelters, enabling modular response as needs evolved
“We had patients, no power, and limited fuel. MoXIE gave us refrigeration, lighting, and a way to stay connected — without the noise or fumes. It made a bad situation manageable.”
Suggested MoXIE Configuration for Emergency Response Teams
Component | Role |
---|---|
MoXIE Solo Unit | AC output hub (3.6kW, 120V or 230V); also provides 14V, 28V, and 48V DC |
3x Vita Cells* | 9kWh combined capacity, hot-swappable range of -4°F to 140°F |
3x Kodiak Cells* | 6kWh combined capacity, wider temp range of -40°F to 140°F |
MoXIE Matrix | Smaller, more compact inverter ideal for tight deployment spaces |
Flex Charger | Smaller, more compact inverter ideal for tight deployment spaces*Use Kodiak Cells when filming in extreme environments or climates outside of 0°F–140°F range. |
*Choose Vita Cells for max capacity in mild climates, or Kodiak Cells for extreme conditions and reliable cold-weather performance.
MoXIE gives disaster response teams a tactical edge — scalable, swappable, and self-contained power for when the grid’s gone and every second counts.
